…. which company would it be and what job would you do?

I saw this question posted on a message board and decided to turn it into a blog post ‘cuz it’s so fun!

Which Company? Decisions, Decisions

I’d want to work for Simple Stories. I’ve met the owners and a few of the crew; they are the NICEST people! From seeing them interact at CHA, I can tell they have a fun time at work!

The co-owner Amber Crowell is the main designer and she’s so creative. I’d love to just be around and watch her design process from start to finish.

Also, when I read her story, I see how much we have in common. I think if we worked together, we’d be besties in no time :) Not to replace her current bestie, of course – just to add another one ME!

#TotalDreamJob

As for the job itself, I’d want to be assistant to Director of Marketing Layle Koncar, helping with their social media, marketing, and outreach. I have so many ideas for their blog and social channels! It would be a blast to have that job.

You might also occasionally find me in the warehouse sniffing all that glorious paper! Erm, I mean “doing social media product research” … yep! Uh-huh. That’s what I meant to say.

Okay, you’re turn! Please leave your answer by clicking the word Comments under the title to this post :)

I think I would like to work for Becky Higgins/Project Life. I’m not at their skill level of creativity, but I could do other jobs…although I think they are all pretty awesome at what they do. They all look like they are having fun together, as they work. Becky’s spirituality is just such a part of who she is, and I would love to soak in that. However, I’m not moving to AZ, so it’s a moot point. I can only imagine!

If I could work for any scrapbook store, it would be my own. We’re dreaming, right?? I did have a small store right before the recession kicked in and kicked it the rear, but I loved every single bit of having my own business. I have too many favorite scrapbook companies to choose only one, or even two… but I think if I were to work for any of them, I’d like to be doing something in the marketing department like social media, creating newsletters, promoting events, etc. Thanks for letting me take a few seconds in my day to dream of the “what if…” :)

Having your own store must’ve been amazing, Ronda! I’m sorry that dream had to end :( Do you think you’ll open another one someday?

I think I would like to work for Scrapbook Expo, do the R&D for the latest and greatest classes…play with scrapbooking stuff all day and call it work. Maybe even travel around the country.

Yeah, Karen! That sounds like the best of all worlds kind of job. I’d love playing with the products and the travel, being around other scrapbookers all the time. Woo hoo!

I’ll take doodlebug design, thank you very much. I’d even be willing to move to Salt Lake City. I love the colors they use. Since we are dreaming my job would be the person who plays with the paper. That could be a real thing right?

Oh yeah, in our dream world, that could totally be a real thing, Jessie :) I love Doodlebug. Their designs and colors are so cheerful, they just make you smile.

Before I read your post I answered with Simple Stories. I just love everything they do! I don’t think I could be a designer but I could play with their products every day! Hearing that they are nice people too would be the icing on the cake!

I have too many favorites to pick just one. But I would be a teacher.

Enjoyed reading everyone’s comments. I agree it is hard to pick just one company, but I think I’d go with October Afternoon because I love their design style, retro look, color choices, etc. If I could help with classes, videos, kits, etc., I think I’d choose Ali Edwards as I’d have a blast working side by side with her and I’d learn so darn much!!

Oooh, Ali Edwards is a good one, Nadine! She’s always seemed like the absolute sweetest person and oh so smart. Great choice. And you know OA is one of my favorites.
