New Program at Michaels: “Buy the Bunch” Special Order or Buy in Bulk Program

Buy the Bunch at Michaels

Well, this is pretty cool! There’s a new program at Michaels call “BUY THE BUNCH” where you can call ahead to your local Michaels, make a special order, and have it delivered to the store for pickup. There are no minimum quantities and your order may qualify for discounts. I used the locator thingee and my 3 closest stores participate in the program, yip!

I think this would be great or brides-to-be needing a bunch of candles or favors, cardmakers who buy cards and envies in bulk, or teachers who need multiples of an item for a school project. Or even if you’re just a regular ol’ shopper like me and the item you want is missing from the shelf. Ooh, I wonder if you could pair this with one of those 20% off your total order coupons? That would be double coolio!

Anyway, just wanted to share about this new program in case it might come in handy for ya’ at some point :)

Memory Works: National Scrapbook Day Specials – Simple Stories Exclusive Packs!

Wow, that’s a long title! But I wanted to make sure you didn’t pass over this post in your reader, girlie. There’s some really great deals here.

Here’s my favorite: Simple Stories “100 Days of Summer NSD Value Pack” for $12.50 {retail value $20}. This line is my all-time favorite of the 13 Simple Stories lines {although when I see the new line “SUMMER FRESH” in person, it just may bonk down to #2, hee}. The colors are soooo warm and sunny. They go with all your summer photos. Not to mention if you love the 4×6 transparencies, this is the cheapest way to get them. They’re normally exclusive to the Collection Packs which run over $20.

Get it on my website HERE.

Simple Stories “Life Documented NSD Value Pack” for $5.00 is next {retail value $8.00}. This was the first ever Simple Stories line and it made history. Actually, it was this lines’ huge success that enabled Memory Works to go forward with SS and make it a long-term line. So I think we all owe Life Documented a huge thank you :) It’s great for Project 365-type scrapbooks or just your everyday layouts. The banner papers are my favorites. If you missed the line the first time round, or you loved it and would like some papers, this is your deal!

Now we have Simple Stories “Destinations NSD Value Pack” for $12.50 {retail value $20}. This is another of my faves. What I love about this line – well, so many things – but because of the primary colors mixed with black accents, it is a PERFECT match for scrapbooking Disney photos. To me, so much of the Disney stuff is too bright and flashy but this is more subtle while still getting the colors right. It looks fabulous with other vacation layouts as well, and many of the papers/elements can be used on everyday pages.

Get it on my website HERE.

Simple Stories “Elementary NSD Value Pack” for $10.00 {retail value $18.00}. Here’s another example where Simple Stories gets the colors just right. Have you ever wanted to do a School Days album for your kids? This is the perfect way to get it done quickly and beautifully. All the journaling cards, elements, and papers make it easy. I used this line to do a School Days album for myself. My photos from “way back then” (ha) are a little bit dull or have flatter colors than today’s photos, so this line went perfectly with that. I had tried it with other lines and it never looked right because the contrast was too great. What a great value … almost half the retail cost.

Get it on my website HERE.

Have you seen the Simple Stories lines in person? These photos just don’t do them justice, do you agree? If you order them, you won’t be sorry. They are to die for in real life. So maybe this National Scrapbook Day, you’re going to a crop and need some projects you can work on. Try one or more of these kits and I guarantee you’ll have a fun and productive day. And you truly can’t beat these prices. Get ’em before they sell out!

There are 4 more National Scrapbook Day specials at Memory Works. I’ll try to post about them soon but if you want to take a peek, they’re right HERE. They’re from another brand you know and love.

If you’re leery to order from a consultant like me … well, don’t be! It’s just like shopping online anywhere -> load cart and check-out with your goods, lady! I’ll send you a Paypal invoice (or send you my address to mail a check) and your order will be shipped from Utah straight to your house within 1-2 business days. I don’t spam you with a bunch of e-mail or anything. You only wanna’ order one time, it’s hunky with me!

Hit me with your questions or if I can place the order for you: scrapbookobsession(at)gmail(dot)com. Thank you!

Another Scrapbook Warehouse Box Sale! This Time It’s Bella Blvd

bella blvd warehouse sale scrapbook

HERE is a .pdf with all the details. HERE it is on the Bella blog. Order by 04-30-12 for $37.99; order from 05-01 through 05-04-12 for $43.99. {I notice that the .pdf mentions the early bird price, but the blog doesn’t give specifics on it … so I’d check that .pdf linked above if you’re going to order}.

The ad says there is $125 worth of stuff so that sounds like quite the deal! I didn’t realize until I looked at their BLOG and WEBSITE that they had so many lines out. Wowzers, cute stuff.

I’m not going to order … mainly because I’ve been on a bit of a spree lately (yeah, that’s putting it lightly) and I need to chill, yo. But also because I don’t own any Bella Blvd to this point (say what???) and don’t know if I like their products enough to chance this.

But if you are a Bella fan, I say “go forth and shop, my friend!” So …. are ya’ gonna’?

ETA 04-18-12: Shout out to the PEAS! A poster pointed out that the e-mail address on the BB blog (at least as of the time I’m writing this) is missing an “L”.

Hurry! Iris 12×12 Scrapbooking Containers – Daily Deal at Michaels

Wow, THIS is a great deal on these Iris containers! Only $3.99. Don’t they normally sell for $7.99?

I love these and have several of the clear ones. I use them to store album projects I’m working on because I can keep all the papers, stickers, alphas, even the album in one place, then grab it when I have time to work on it.

It’s only good for 1 day: Wednesday 4-18-12. So hurry!

The Only Thing Scrapbook-Related About This Post …

… is that on the SCRAPBOOK message boards, my name is always Journeyfan. ‘Cuz I love JOURNEY. Mostly the old Steve Perry Journey but I will make do with the new Arnel Pineda Journey … in fact, I get to see them in concert this summer (with Pat Benatar and Loverboy, fer shure!).

Anyhoo, watch this and smile. Please.

“Any Way You Want It”

I hadn’t seen this commercial but a fellow Pea mentioned it so I had to go find it on Youtube. By the way, I think most commercials are evil and annoying and I want to kiss the toes of the genius who invented the DVR.

But this commercial is an exception. Love it.

Have a great weekend!

Memory Works: Simple Stories “Summer Fresh” … New Line Ships Late April 2012!

Oh, what was that? Did you say “Quit jabbering and show us some pictures, mama”? Alright already! Here ya’ go …

Scrapbook Generation: Super Sketch Club

I’ve talked here many times about my love for the sketch books put out by SCRAPBOOK GENERATION called “SKETCHES FOR SCRAPBOOKING.” For instance, HERE, HERE, and HERE.

I’m the proud owner of Sketches for Scrapbooking, Volumes 1-7. I like to pull the books apart and sort the sketches into binders by number of photos per sketch. I keep a binder on my desk at all times in a cookbook holder (landscape side) so it’s super easy to flip through. Then when I’m ready to scrap, I grab a stack of photos and head to that section of my binder. Luvs it.

What I think of as the “Allison” way of scrapbooking is exactly the way I’ve always scrapped – mostly 2-page layouts, lots of photos, and great journaling. But the thing is … Allison and her group do it oh-so-much mo’ betta’ than I ever could. So I basically just scrapbook following their sketches now, LOL. I mean, cut out the middle man right?

Scrapbook Generation also has several MONTHLY KITS. I’ve drooled over the layouts from these kits for, gosh, it must be 2 years or so by now. I don’t get any other kits and have always chosen to spend my scrappy budget on the cool new things that come onto my MEMORY WORKS SITE.

But after much hemming and hawing (I swear, I actually went “Hemmmm!” And then I went “Haaawww!” Kid you not). And much chewing on the inside of my mouth in deep thought … I decided that 2012 is the year that THE SUPER SKETCH CLUB WILL BE MINE!

Ahem! Erm, I mean … I will finally join the SUPER SKETCH CLUB. And I did. And my first kit (the MARCH one) came today. I had to take the kids somewhere straight after the post office and, okay, I admit it: I kind of sped a teensy bit in my car to get there sooner so I could open the stinkin’ kit!

When we got there and I let them off, I sat in the car and opened it. For the record, it was packaged very nicely in a flattened box and then a big plastic ziplock-y type bag. The invoice was on top, then the first sketch, with all the papers and cardstock to make the first 3 layouts. Then the other sketches and papers organized perfectly.

They post photos of the layouts every month on their blog so if there’s a kit you don’t care for, you can just send it to me. Or I mean, cancel it for that month. What-EVER!

Here are the March layouts from the blog:

So you get 5 double-page layouts (and there will be nice leftovers you can make cards from if you like) for only $26.99 including shipping. Amazing.

Is it too soon to declare that I’m in love?!?!? I mean, we just met and all but – sometimes you just KNOW, right? Yeah, I KNOW.

So then I looked out my car windows to make sure no one was looking and … well, you know what I did next because you have the same sickness I do.

I took a deep breath and smelled all that paper.

Don’t look at me like that! You know you would’ve done the same thing. Don’t pretend you’re all better than me, all holier-than-thou, “ooh, I would never inhale paper sitting in a car alone, ew!” Because you know you would.

So I got a little sidetracked there but I just wanted to tell you that I totally recommend the Super Sketch Club from Scrapbook Generations. You should sign up. Today.

But get your own kit! I’m going to marry mine ;)

Scrapbooking Grab Box: Support a Great Cause and Maybe Even Win an iPad!

I heard about THIS on the 2peas General Scrappin’ board. Hayley is raising money for a humanitarian mission by selling boxes full of scrappy goodness for only $45 INCLUDING SHIPPING!

Yowser! I SO want to buy one (or nine) … but I can’t. I’ve been on somewhat of a spree lately (gulp) and need to pull back the reins on the scrappy spending horse. And OH how I would love to win an iPad. I think I’m the last person in America without one, LOL.

Since I can’t buy a box, I’ll do the next best thing and tell you about it … so you can buy one … and tell us about it when you receive it. See how that works? Share the love (donation to a good cause) and share the love (tell us what you get so we can live through you).

It’s a win-win … am I right?

Memory Works: Simple Stories 6×8 Albums and Accessories Now Available!

Soooo excited! This is the CHA release I’ve been most waiting for!

Simple Stories Mix and Match 6x8 album

It’s the …
Simple Stories “Mix and Match” 6×8 albums

“This and That” refill pages from the 3 new lines {DOCUMENTED, AWESOME, and FABULOUS}

and

“Odds and Ends” memorabilia pockets in 4 sizes.

You can see photos of every thing HERE.

HERE are the Memory Works catalog pages that show images as well and describe what’s included with each item and prices.

With these amazing little albums, you can use the basic pages and divided photo page protectors to make an album on any subject under the sun. Then take it a step further and incorporate the 6×8 album pages from the 3 new Simple Stories lines ~ one at a time or mix and match them.

The memorabilia pockets come in 4 sizes, 3 of which can be used in the 6×8 album … the fact that there are also 12×12 memorabilia pockets just makes me think … BONUS!! You can use those in your regular scrapbooks, hang them on your scraproom wall for storage, or maybe even bind them into an album.

I just placed an order for a Simple Stories 6×8 album and every single one of the accessories and memorabilia pockets. I can’t wait until they get there and when they do I’ll post pics.

We do have limited quantities at this point, so if you don’t want to miss out out, PLEASE place your order quickly RIGHT HERE on my Memory Works website*.

So what do you think? Do you like these new Simple Stories products? What projects can you see making with them? For instance, I’m going to use my first one for a trip we just took to Spring Training (baseball) in Arizona. I think the colors from Documented and Awesome especially will work great with all the baseball photos. I plan to use some Fabulous pages for all the pics we took at the pool (turquoise water in every pic … should be a great match!). I can tuck receipts and ticket stubs in the pockets, showcase all my fun photos in the divided page protectors, and journal about our trip in all the great spaces provided on the insert pages.

Shizzle! The UPS man canNOT get here fast enough. For rizzle. I can’t wait I can’t wait I can’t wait!!

*Don’t let shopping with a scrapbook consultant scare you. I promise I won’t pressure you to join my monthly stamping club or scare you into thinking only MY items are archival safe and all others will ruin your photos for generations to come ;) Ordering through me is very similar to doing any other online shopping. You go to my website, put what you like in a shopping cart, and check out. I’ll get an e-mail as soon as you place your order -> will send you a Paypal invoice. Once your payment is received, I’ll process your order and it’ll ship from Home Office in Utah in 1-2 business days. See? WAY-hey-hey easier than flocking and you’ve tried that, right?

Scrapbook Organization: Another Room I Want

I found THIS amazingly organized scrapbook room on one of my favorite manufacturer’s blogs, OCTOBER AFTERNOON.

The room belongs to Stacey and I just love it. She uses a lot of my favorite ways to organize including …

– 12×12 Sterlite-type drawers, which I love because they hold just the right amount, are easy to access, and easy to put things away in.

– Cropper Hopper vertical 12×12 paper holders which make your paper so easy to flip through. I use them to sort by manufacturer and put everything in there – 12×12 papers, letters, stickers, die cuts, ribbon, and all other embellishments. I like to scrap using things from the same line and sometimes mixing and matching from the same manufacturer (many use the same color families over and over, which I love!). So I love having everything from, say, CRATE PAPER or FANCY PANTS, all in one place.

– Ribbon in jars … not only can you see all the varieties you have so you know where to start diggin’ (LOL), but they’re so decorative too. Which leads me to another thing I love about Stacey’s room …

– Everything is organized by color, and in ROY G BIV order no less. It makes this anal retentive girl’s heart skip a beat! Srsly. I have my cardstock, ribbons, Stickles, brads/metal embellishments, and Making Memories paints all organized by color. I’ve toyed with the idea many times of organizing all of my embellishments that way – like EVERYTHING red in one holder, etc. – but I don’t think I’d like it. I can see it works well for her, though. It’s all in the way you personally scrap.

– Memorabilia organized by family member in accordion files. I would love to do this … but she must be WAY better at paring things down than I’ll ever be because I could never squeeze each family member into just one file, LOL.

So a big shout out to Stacey! She has, over all her years or scrapbooking and changing spaces, refined the systems that work for her. She’s super organized and has created a bright, functional space to create in.

What do you love about her room? What things would work for you and what wouldn’t? Do you use any of the same organizational systems of items she does?

How about you? What are you listening to these days? Did you love {or hate} any of the music I posted?

Scrapbooks, Etc. Magazine Ceasing Publication? Just a Bad Rumor … Phew!

I made it clear right in the title. Don’t want to cause any panty bunching or Diet Coke inhalation ;) I got yo’ back, homes.

Check out THIS THREAD on 2peas. Apparently, posters who had subscribed to Scrapbooks, Etc. through DiscountMags.com* recently got this e-mail.

Dear (Subscriber),

Your order for Scrapbooks ETC has been canceled (Order #——- on 02/15/2012).

Cancellation reason: The magazine has ceased publication.

Refund Amount: $10.00
Please allow 5 business days for refund to return to your account.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reply to this e-mail.

Sincerely,
Customer Care
Disc0unt Mags.c0m

* No, I’m not going to give them the privilege of a link because that is a reeeeeeealy bonehead move. Do *NOT* mess around about a scrapbooking magazine being shut down. We don’t take too kindly to that kind of thing. And we bear scissors. And cutters, trimmers, piercers, and punches. Yeah, I said PUNCHES. Be skerred. Be very skerred.

K, so … it turns out the e-mail was incorrect. If you scroll down on page 1 of the thread, you’ll see this:

Hey, Peas! Michelle Rubin from Scrapbooks etc. here. We are still in publication! In fact we’re busy working away on our June issue. We’re checking into this e-mail, though. So it’s business as usual. Please feel free to renew your subscription!

Michelle Rubin
Editor
Scrapbooks etc.

First of all, that’s what I love about 2peas message board. You have a scrapbooking question or concern, you post about it, and you get answers – often right from the source.

Secondly, SO glad SCRAPBOOKS ETC. isn’t ceasing publication, and that Michelle took the time to come and squelch the rumors. It sounds like she had a little convo with the discount maggers because further down in the thread, a Pea posted this:

I just received a follow up email with an apology for saying that Scrapbooks, Etc. was ceasing publication. It just said that they were not offering the publication through their service.

Duh. That’s a pretty major difference, Discount Magazine People. I mean, really??? So now my scrappy heart can start beating again. Since the beginning, I’ve gotten Scrapbooks Etc. {because I’m a SB magazine ho, and I don’t mind their change in format as much AS I THOUGHT I WOULD}.

Until recently, I bought it off the newsstand but then a cute kid with a magazine fundraiser wouldn’t leave me alone and I subscribed. {“Who are these little people and why do they keep calling me ‘mom’?”}.

Just today I was considering whether to re-up even though my subscription goes through August. But honestly (and kinda’ related to this), I decided not to because of all the scrapbook magazines that have stopped publishing … and I don’t want to be left holding the bag. Yeah, I have *that* much confidence in today’s scrapbook magazine industry. Color me jaded.

Anyway, glad to hear SBE is planning to continue. They and CREATING KEEPSAKES are the only scrapbook magazines I still buy. Isn’t it crazy how many there used to be and now there’s TWO? Times have sure changed :(

Oh! Gotta’ go! Someone is knocking at the door. Better not be one of those cute magazine fundraiser kids. I. will. not. cave. Wish me luck!

ETA later the same night: Well, shukes! I can’t even be righteously indignant toward the Discount Maggers that sent out the erroneous info. Check out this contrite e-mail they’re now sending their customers:

We are writing to you today, to apologize for incorrectly stating in a previous e-mail that Scrapbooks ETC will be ceasing publication. We are unable to fulfill your subscription because this magazine is no longer available through our website. A full refund back to your original payment method has already been promptly processed. In offering this deal, it was certainly our intention to complete all orders.

Clearly, we did not meet your, or our own, expectations for the excellent service you deserve from us. Please be assured that we will take this opportunity to conduct a comprehensive review of our entire process in offering this deal, so this situation does not happen again. We have enclosed a code for $5 off your next DiscountMags.com purchase, in the hopes you will shop with us again and see that we are committed to doing better.

Gift Certificate: (a big long number)

Again, please accept our most sincere apology.

Sincerely,

DiscountMags.com Customer Service Team

It’s not even fun to be mad when someone apologizes like that, huh? Good on ya’, Disc0untMags.c0m!

Simple Stories vs. Cosmo Cricket: Copycat or Coincidence?

On THIS POST about a new Memory Works line ~ Simple Stories “Fabulous” ~ a commenter stated this:

The paper “Sweet” is a total ripoff if not close to an exact copy of a Cosmo Cricket paper from Odds N Ends, Eclectic.

So let’s compare the two papers and see what ya’ll think.

COSMO CRICKET Odds & Ends** “Eclectic” paper

cosmo cricket odds and ends eclectic

SIMPLE STORIES Fabulous “Sweet” paper {Sorry, I can’t isolate just the “Sweet” paper; please scroll down a bit}.

memory works simple stories fabulous sweet

Here are my observations:

~ Both papers do have a similar overall design with with a circular doily-type pattern.

~ Both make use of softer or “shabby” color schemes.

~ Both are multi-colored, as opposed to one solid color (I’m referring just to the “A” sides)

~ Eclectic has 2 sizes of the “doilies” while Sweet uses multiple sizes (I count 6)

~ Eclectic is in a very set pattern while Sweet is more random.

Obviously, I’m biased because I’m a 5-year consultant with MEMORY WORKS who produces the Simple Stories lines. So my opinion doesn’t matter much … but I’ll give it to ya’ anyway ;)

I do think the 2 papers are alike and I can see why the similarity caught the commenter’s eye. If I had first seen the Cosmo Cricket paper and then saw the Simple Stories paper, I probably would’ve thought “Wow, ‘Sweet’ reminds me of a paper I’ve seen before.”

But overall I don’t see Sweet as a “ripoff” or “exact copy” of Eclectic. They are definitely similar … no denying that. But I don’t know how you would use a circular, doily-type design and not have it look similar to Eclectic. There are only so many ways you can arrange circles on a 12×12 canvas.

The colors are different enough to give a different overall feel; from Eclectic I get “shabby, vintage, warm” and from Sweet I get “girly, Spring, happy.” Besides, DOILIES ARE KINDA’ HOT right now ;)

So … what do you think: Copycat or coincidence?

**P.S.: I do find it pretty funny that the Cosmo Cricket line that Eclectic comes from is called “Odds N Ends” … because that’s very similar to the name of a NEW SIMPLE STORIES LINE … which is “Odds & Ends”. :) :)

simple stories odds n ends

I’m sure it’s just another coincidence ;)

Photo Booth and Scrapbook Services Rentals

Check out THIS article from ABOUT.COM called “Scrapbooking Trend Watch: Photo Booth and Scrapbook Services Rentals” and see what you think of this new thang.

I’ve seen ads on my local Craiglist jobs page looking to hire attendants for these portable photo booths. And they still have photo booths at our county fair each year. So I knew photo booths were still out there ~ that they are loads of fun and produce such “unique” photos, LOL. But I didn’t know until I read the above-linked article that scrapbooking had been incorporated into the mix.

Just to give you an idea of the modern take on photo booths, here are some examples of photo booth rental companies: The Portable Photo Booth, CapturePod, and My Portable Photo Booth.

portable photo booth

I think it sounds pretty clever and fun. I wish this set-up had been around when I got married. It’s another fun thing to add to the par-tay and at the end of the night, you end up with a scrapbook of photos and journaling from your beloved guests. And YOU the scrapper didn’t even have to do all the work ~ hollah!

An exciting thing about this trend is that it provides yet another way for scrapbookers to turn their hobby (aka obsession) into a business. If you love people, attending fun events, and scrapbooking, you should contact your local photo booth rental companies and see if they’d like to partner with you or hire you as a supplement to their parties. It would be a win-win. I think if potential customers knew that not only would they get the photo booth at their event AND would get a scrapbook to take home, these companies would book even more events.

Man, now I want to be invited to an event where there’s a photo booth and scrapbooking, LOL! All the sample pictures on the websites make it look like so much fun. Have you been to an event with one of these portable photo booths and if so, did they have the scrapbook option? If there was a photo booth at a wedding or party you attended, would you go in, act goofy, and have your photo taken? What do you think of this whole concept?

New Scrapbook Novel Launch Party … and some GREAT prizes!

Okay, this is a two-fer. Not only are you going to learn about a new scrapbook novel that’s coming out, but you’re going to enter for some amazing scrappy prizes.

HERE YOU GO.

You can thank me later =)

{Which, if you win, should take the form of sharing some of that booty, eh? Fer shizzle.}

PS: Make that a three-fer. Courtney is posting giveaways all week. Just keep checking HER BLOG. Good luck!

52 Lists in 52 Weeks: List #5

HERE is the prompt from Kellie.

10 PEOPLE I WOULD LIKE TO MEET

1. Steve Perry – I just want to talk to him. I won’t even make him sing.

2. James Frey – I would like to give him a hug and tell him I’m sorry for how Oprah treated him. That was just all kinds of wrongness, and was the beginning of the end of my worshipping her.

3. Melissa McCarthy – Did you see my LAST LIST?

4. Jorge Cruise – His BELLY FAT CURE books have changed the way I view nutrition, and he seems like a bouncy, uplifting person.

5. Andrea Bocelli – I *would* make him sing for me.

6. Kyle Chandler – No worries, I would bring my husband. It would all be on the up and up! Sheesh.

7. Whoever invented martinis.

8. Whoever invented Starbucks.

9. Whoever invented Old Navy sweatpants. WHAT!?!? These are life-changers, people! I need to thank somebody!

10. My online scrapbookie friend Abby. We’ve “talked” for years but live on opposite sides of the country. I would love to meet her in person. And we will someday.

So where’s your list? Leave a linkee below if you like :)

52 Lists in 52 Weeks: List #4

Wow, how surprising, I’ve fallen behind (eye roll). It’s just so very shocking because I’m normally known for my astonishing promptness (not). So better late than never … here is my latest list for “52 LISTS IN 52 WEEKS” inspired by a prompt from KELLIE.

10 TV SHOWS I LOVE and (TRY TO) WATCH RELIGIOUSLY:

1. Grey’s Anatomy – This is my “you’d better leave mom alone or I’ll … well SOMETHING really bad and threatening” show every Thursday night … except when they show reruns which is annoyingly often. If I ever met McDreamy in person, I just know I would run my hands through his lovely hair. I wouldn’t be able to stop myself.

2. Real Housewives of Everywhere – This is my guiltiest pleasure. I have watched every episode, every season, every city. {Gah, that’s actually depressing when you add up all those hours I could’ve been doing something useful with my life}. But like any reality train wreck show, I watch to see lives that are so different than mine and behavior that is SO far from any that I would participate in. In other words, them bee-yotches is crazy … and I love it!

3. Napoleon Dynamite – I love this animated version of one of my favorite movies. They have all the original characters doing the voices. There are many shout outs to fans of the movie. Off-beat, quirky humor that makes me snorkle.

4. House Hunters International – It’s like a house hunting show and a travel show all in one. Instead of seeing the nice pretty version of foreign countries, you get to see inside the homes of people who live there, what is “normal” for their culture, how much real estate costs overseas, etc. I’m fascinated by things like washing machines in the kitchen and showers with no doors.

5. The Bachelor/The Bachelorette – Another show I’ve watched every episode of since the beginning except that I’m boycotting this season of The Bachelor because I can’t believe they picked this guy, Ben. But they will reel me back in with The Bachelorette because I just read in People magazine that it’s going to be Emily. I can’t wait to see how that goes!

6. Chef Roble’ and Company – He’s cute, smart, and an insane chef. He books off-the-wall events like a vegan kosher Thai party or a doggie wedding. His sister/partner is a hot mess and his staff is funny and cool. It makes me smile.

7. The New Girl – I started watching it for Zooey … but I fell in love with it because of Schmidt. He is one of the best comedic characters to come along in a while. I love the dynamic of all the friends and Zooey is just sweeter than honey bee.

8. Mike & Molly – I laugh out loud numerous times per episode. Mike’s mom is a freakin’ crackup and Melissa McCarthy can deliver a funny line better than any female on TV right now. She even makes carrying laundry up the stairs hilarious. She is my BFF … she just doesn’t know it yet.

9. Switched at Birth – One my family enjoys together. I love how they cover the issues of dealing with the switch, and also the deaf characters. The teens in the show get themselves into bad situations and unlike some other teen shows, they show that there are bad consequences to the mistakes.

10. American Idol/So You Think You Can Dance – I’m combining these because they are similar “talent” shows and air at different times of the year. I enjoy seeing what amazingly talented young people are out there. The way they can sing and dance really moves me. I’m so happy when my favorites move on and heartbroken when they get sent home. It’s like I adopt them for a little while in my heart. {Speaking of which, did you hear Danny Gokey just got married!?!? He’s the one whose first wife died like 3 weeks before he auditioned. I’m so happy for him!} {See what I mean? I get attached, lol}.

So there is my list. Where’s yours?
