Threading Waters Punch: Another Great Tutorial

Back in the Day, I posted THIS tutorial I found that shows you how to “go around the corner” with the famous Fiskars THREADING WATER punch.

Now, thanks to SCRAPSCENE, I found THIS great tutorial for another way to use your Threading Waters punch. It’s on Crystal aka Scrapper Mom’s BLOG. She has some other great tutorials on there…go check it, ladies!

Here is

    CRYSTAL’s LAYOUT

where she used the trim made with her TW punch.

The technique Crystal shares in her tutorial is how she made the red strip. I love how it replicates the yellow sun rays, which look to be made from Doodlebug strips. And, hey! I spy some Fancy Pants SUMMER SOIREE in that layout, don’t I? See, I like this girl. Excellent taste, LOL!

Enjoy Crystal’s gorgeous layout and her cool tutorial. Cheers!

I Did It! Scalloped Corners with The Punch…

In case you didn’t see THIS post, there is a great tutorial out that shows you how to go ‘around the corner’ with your Threading Water punch by Fiskars. I didn’t have time to make a card or anything, but lastnight I had just time enough to play with a piece of scrap paper to see if a ‘non-professional’ scrapper like me could master this technique. And I’m here to tell ya, it was pretty easy. The tutorial is well written and has the perfect photos to walk you through it. And here is the cute little scalloped rectangle I made…yay me!

This is a pic of the TW punch, and the back side of my mat. If you look closely, you can see which corner didn’t perfectly match up and I had to trim it with scissors, resulting in a kind of googly corner. But I’m not picky enough to let that bother me. However, I will keep practicing and I’m sure I’ll be able to perfect that last corner someday, LOL.

This is the same mat just flipped over. Don’t know why I took a photo of it except that I liked the pattern on this side and how it looked with the eyelet shape.

*Thank U* to my friend Gloria/GLOANN (a CKMB and AMR sweetie) who tried it first and showed me how easy it was, and then she left a comment on the Scrapbook and Cards Today BLOG mentioning my blog. She is one of THE most genuinely nicest ladies I have ever met, online or IRL.

So give this technique a try. If I can do it, you surely can! The results are smashing…

What the New Blog Stats Reveal…

Behind the scenes where you can’t see, WordPress just made a bunch of changes. My dashboard looks completely different and I’m still finding my way around. So far, the changes seem to be good ones. Here are a couple of interesting things I found in a new part of my Blog Stats section:

    Top Posts

Kristina Contes Speaks (Maybe She Shouldn’t Have?), 5,362 views
Scrapbooking Organization: Mission Accomplished, 4,410 views
Cricut Design Studio Software, 4,039 views

In other words, of all the posts I’ve written, these are the Top 3 most clicked on.

Also:

    Top Searches

Fiskars Threading Water Punch, Scrapbook Organization, Threading Water Punch

These are the most common terms you all were searching when you linked here.

So, how long has it been since the Kristina Controversy? And I kid you not, DAILY I see that there are readers still finding me from searching her name, and then reading that post. (Although I wrote several where her name is mentioned, this is the one that gets all the attention. My poor other Kristina posts feel bereft and unwanted…).

I think the Fiskars Threading Water punch wins the award for the Best Frenzy Item EVER. I know it’s still the talk of CKMB, with a lot of scrappers finding one of these sought-after punches …. and many still searching. And I’m not surprised there’ve been so many searches for Scrapbook Organization, as that is a topic near and dear to all scrappers hearts.

Thanks for all the “hits” and all the comments you leave and please keep coming back!
