A Christmas Miracle

I can’t believe it. This is a first.

It’s January 2nd and I’m already starting to scrapbook the holidays. The ones that just passed.

I know, RIGHT?

Today I downloaded all the holiday photos from my digital camera and iPhone, created an album in iPhoto, made some deletions, and edited all the photos I kept.

Now I’m printing them out. It’s positively freaky.

Later tonight, I’m going to put my holiday photos in pocket pages, maybe even get crazy and add the Project Life cards I’m using {from THIS set}.

Or I might go REALLY crazy and make actual layouts with THIS.

By the end of next week, the goal is have my journaling done – while all the memories are still fresh in my mind.

I’m only so amazed at my own progress because I think my last 5 or so Christmas’s haven’t been scrapped yet. They got stuck in the iPhoto album stage :(

Nothing says “fall + winter” like a Pumpkin Spice Latte … yummm!

The nicest Christmas tree I saw this year . . . at the movie theater! Yes, I was the goober standing there in the lobby taking a photo :P

You Know What They Say About Best Laid Plans …

Of course something would go wrong! It’s me, after all.

I just ran out of photo paper. Blerg.

Off to order more from Amazon. Oh well, I can still get through the photos I did get printed.

And You?

Have you made any progress toward scrapping your holiday 2015 photos?

Love the photos. Especially the snowy ones on the road! What photo printer do you use? Are you happy with it? I’m wondering if I would be more productive if I owned one. And if it would be more cost-efficient as well.

Hi Laura! Glad you like the photos :) I took a ton of snow photos – it was so pretty! And we live near the beach so we don’t get to see snow very much. I have an old Epson PictureMate Charm that’s still chugging along and I *love* the print quality. I also use my Epson Artisan 835 which does almost as good. It’s older too. I’ve been really lucky with picking good photo printers. I think printing from home is more expensive on the face of it but since I only print what I’m going to scrap, it saves me money from printing photos that maybe won’t be scrapped (at least not until much later) AND saves the space of storing them too. The quality is so great that I really love printing from home. Also because instant gratification :) If I had to wait until I uploaded these photos somewhere, placed my order, and waited for it to arrive, I probably would’ve lost my mojo.

Erika- you go girl! It’s a great feeling to get a project done.
Love your photos. Are they from a iPhone or a regular camera.

Thanks Jessie! I got about half of my holiday photos printed before I ran out of photo paper. I got them all in pocket pages and inserted Project Life cards. Now I just need to journal … maybe tonight. Feels good to be making progress! The snow in the trees and bridge photos were taken with my Nikon Coolpix P100. The rest were with my iPhone 6+. I’ve been really impressed with the quality of photos taken with the iPhone. As long as they’re fairly close up, they’re almost as good as my Nikon photos!

I echo everyone else’s comments – lovely photos, Erika! I have an old Nikon Coolpix P80 and an iPhone 6+, and I also print all my pictures at home. Of course, I don’t print often enough and probably have thousands of pictures on SD cards I need to edit and then print. I asked my sister to pose for a picture with my parents yesterday before she left for Orange County, CA. Without thinking she said, “Why, you’ll never do anything with the pictures.” That hit me right in the heart because she is super organized and neat and I am a procrastinator and have lots of piles. I think she was just frustrated because then she had to brush her hair again(!), but it reminded me to get back on the Marie Kondo train!!

Well, family gives it to us straight, don’t they? LOL Glad you took it with a grain of salt but it’s good motivation too. I have 8 Creative Memories photos storage boxes full of old photos. It’s just to the point where, as much as I love printed photos, I need to print current ones as I scrap them – or at least slip them into pocket protectors. They’re not being looked at in the boxes anyway. At least that’s what I tell myself.
