Scrapbooker Funny: Why Facebook Taggers Should Worry & You Shouldn’t

Check out this hilarious commercial from Canon!

Sure, Facebook and Tag away! But don’t forget to also print, scrapbook, journal, and frame. Your kids’ happiness depends on it :D

PS: On a serious note, I do take this to heart. I kinda’ feel sorry for the kids who’ve been born since social media photo posting came to the forefront. Many of them don’t have photos of themselves on the wall, in scrapbooks, passed around and fawned over by relatives at family gatherings, on their dad’s desk at work, etc. When their parents solely share their photos and accomplishments on social media, the kids kinda’ get shortchanged (in my humble opinion).

Just another reason SCRAPBOOKERS RAWK!!!

Scrapbook Novel: Who Wants to Win a Copy?!?

I’ve been lucky enough to again receive a copy of a new scrapbooking novel to give away! I know how much you love these :)

This time, it’s Gossamer Ghost (A Scrapbooking Mystery) by LAURA CHILDS.

{You can see other posts I’ve done about her books HERE, including a post where YOU got to ask questions of Laura and she answered them for you!}.

The prize is in hardcover because the book just came out in October 2014. All you do to enter is click on Comments under the title to this post and leave a Comment :)

The comment can be about anything but if you’re speechless today, here are some ideas:

– What do you love about scrapbooking novels?
– How many scrapbooking novels have you read? Have a favorite?
– How do you like the way my blog re-design is going (be honest!). Is the “all white” too hard on the eyes? Other suggestions or comments?
– How long have you been a Scrapbook Obsession reader?
– What types of things would you like to read about here that I don’t cover (or cover enough?)

Because I’m so curious about those last 3 questions, I’ll send out a lil’ scrappy prize to someone who thoughtfully answers one (or more) of those – and you’re still eligible for the book, too.

DEADLINE: Sunday, November 30, 2014 at midnight PST
*Open to mailing addresses in the US only

Winners will be announced the following week. Please make sure when leaving a comment that it includes a way to reach you if you win – a link to your blog, your e-mail, etc. Book winner will be selected by random draw. I will hand-pick the scrappy prize winner.

PS: If you’re too anxious to wait for the giveaway (or would prefer a Kindle version instead of a hard copy), the book is available NOW for sale RIGHT HERE. If you’d like to check out other Scrapbooking Mysteries by Laura Childs, you can find them all HERE.

Please tell your scrapbooking and mystery loving friends about the contest! You can use the Share buttons below to easily post to your social media :)

Thanks for entering and sharing!

Scrapbook Organization: How I Store Divided and Plain Page Protectors

I’m kind of a lapsed 12×12 scrapbooker at the moment (don’t shoot!). I’m just at the stage in life where time is at a premium (family time, work, kids’ activities, etc.) and I very rarely get time to scrapbook these days. So the majority of my scrapbooking right now is “pocket page scrapbooking” aka “Project Life type scrapbooking” aka “divided page protector scrapbooking.”

For me, scrapbooking is about memory keeping – and I have horrible long-term memory. So I really count on my scrapbooks to help me remember all those awesome (and not so awesome) moments in my life. I like the ability with pocket page scrapbooking to get photos in albums and get the memories down. It’s not always the fanciest or more artistic method but it accomplishes MY most important goal at the moment and I love it. I figure “someday” I can go back and do regular layouts and I’ll have the photos in one place and some journaling already done as a starting point.

With all this pocket page scrapping – and some regular 12×12 layouts thrown in – I really go through the regular and divided page protectors. I need a good way to organize them and have them handy; when I get time to scrap, I want to SCRAP! I’ve tried various methods, including:

– Keeping them in the boxes/packages they come in stored vertically on a bookshelf.

– Storing them on horizontal shelf cubes like the ones sold at MICHAELS.

– Leaning them in a large bin under my desk.

Well, they all seemed like good ideas at the time, LOL! But for various reasons, they didn’t work out for me (hard to access, got dusty, hard to find the type of protector I needed, etc.).

I finally found the method that works for me: Storing page protectors in 12×12 albums! If you’d like to give it a try as well, here are my tips:

1. Choose a good sturdy 12×12 D-ring album to use.

For now, I’m using a turquoise Sn@p! album for my divided protectors and a light green Project Life album for my plain protectors; I had to separate them because I have so many to store! Eventually, I’ll need those albums for projects so I’ll get some others to replace them. I’m thinking of getting 2 or 3 of the 12×12 Project Life albums when they’re on sale at Michaels in a cute pattern to set them apart from my solid color WRMK albums that house scrapbook pages.

2. Gather all page protectors, take out of boxes and packages, and place into piles by type.

They’re very slippery and hard to deal with. Find a large space like your bed or an open table if you can.

3. For each type of page protector, straighten the pile so all the binder holes line up, and put a large binder clip along the right edge halfway down.

Don’t worry, this is temporary and won’t damage your page protectors if you remove it quickly.

4. Start filling your album, with your mostly commonly used page protector types at the front.

DSCN5896

I use mostly Becky Higgins Design A and BH/WRMK (6) horizontal 4×6’s so those go first.

Tip: Even though the page protectors are clipped together, they still will slide a bit and not line up perfectly. Try inserting the center binder hole first; once that’s lined up, the other 2 holes will line up and insert more easily.

5. Separate page protector types within the album using your divider of choice.

DSCN5897

I use sheets of 12×12 thin white paper to reduce bulk/weight of the album. You could also use Project Life Designer Dividers; a plain page protector with a sheet of cardstock, patterned paper, and/or a label; etc. Personally, I wouldn’t spend a lot of time or energy on the dividers. Once you start using this binder, you’ll get a great feel for where in the binder your desired page protector is and the dividers become kinda’ unnecessary :)

6. Remove the binder clips and let your page protectors be freeee! And you are DUNZO.

DSCN5898

Now you can enjoy the ease of having all your various page protector configurations in one place and finding the exact type you need while you scrapbook.

The only downsides I’ve found to this method are:

– A 12×12 album full of page protectors is VERY heavy.

– You need a large space to have the binder open while you’re working, unless you don’t mind pulling it out and opening it each time you need a new type of protector.

Even with the downsides, I still think this is the best method for storing 12×12 page protectors. They’re so slippery and hard to deal with, I’ve found that having them secured into a D-ring album is the only way to consistently access them without going cray-cray.

If you found this helpful or have another page protector organization idea to share, please leave a Comment! Just click on the link under the title to this post :)

Project Life: “My Story” PL Kit from HSN

As I posted about HERE, I ordered the Project Life “My Story” kit from HSN on their last scrapbooking day. It finally arrived last week!

Here’s the cover to the album . . . obvi! I really like the shades of green and the clean design. I think it will be timeless and not look dated when I’m old and gray :)

DSCN5869

This is the front and back of the package insert so you can see a bit more of what the pages look like.

DSCN5870

DSCN5871

Here’s the opening page and you can see all the tab dividers along the right side.

DSCN5872

This is a closer look at the tabs. Can you see how some of them are already crumpled? The cardstock that the pages and dividers are made from are the same weight (instead of the dividers being of a heavier weight) which is like a heavy cardstock but certainly not a chipboard, not even a thin one. You never know, heavier cardstock could’ve made the book so thick and heavy, it wasn’t useable so I’m fine with this. I’ll probably find a way to reinforce or replace the tab dividers. I do love all the topics it comes with and how the album flows so well.

DSCN5873

These are samples of two of the page spreads.

DSCN5874

DSCN5875

And, finally, the closing page about your will and final wishes. In other words, “You can go to sleep. You are dead now, Scrappy.” You can also see the {10} divided page protectors that came with this album kit from HSN.

DSCN5876

Overall, I’m very happy with the Project Life “My Story” kit. The price from HSN was cheaper than buying all the items separately so it was priced well. The colors and theme of the album are very clean, user friendly, and won’t distract from all the handwriting to be included. They are simple and should be fun to embellish a bit. I’m thinking “WASHI!” How about you?

The most impressive thing about this album is the huge array of topics covered and questions asked. When completed, it really will be your life story from start to finish. There may be pages here and there that don’t apply to everyone – for instance, I’m putting aside the page about ‘my grandchildren’ since I don’t have any yet – but for the most part, very useable and universal.

Becky Higgins does it again. I can’t wait to get started.

A little birdie told me that “TRUE SCRAP 6” classes will be available for individual purchase starting Wednesday, 11-26-14! I can’t give you a link yet but stay tuned to this blog because I’ll post it as soon as it’s allowed. I know a lot of you are patiently waiting :)

Wow, Talk About a Scrapbooker’s DREAM JOB!

AMERICAN CRAFTS is hiring a SCRAPBOOKER/CRAFTER. Yep, you read that right. They’re going to pay someone $28-33K per year plus benefits to scrapbook!

Just think of all the pretty paper and rad embellishments you’d get PAID to play with! The American Crafts umbrella covers: AC (incl. Amy Tangerine, Shimelle, and Dear Lizzy), Pebbles, Crate Paper, Studio Calico, Imaginisce, Pink Paislee, Heidi Swapp, Bazzill, We R Memory Keepers and Project Life products.

Imagine, if you will, this future conversation:

Your boss: “Oh, hello there. Could I please pay you to make something scrappy from these gorgeous Solstice Puffy Stickers?

You: “Uh, sure. Well, I mean, how much are they?”
Your boss: “No, silly! We just give them to you – and lots of other products. And you make cool projects with them which we share with the world and you become a famous scrapper. It’s all free. Plus we pay you. Is that okay?”
You: . . . . . . . . “Am I being Punked?! Where are the cameras?? Ashtonnnnn!”

If I got this job, I would never want to leave work! The after-hours paper sniffing alone would cut into my family time. Then hubby would get mad because his dinner was late and the kids would fail school because I’d be too busy sniffing scrapbook paper to help with their homework. They’d get kicked off their sports teams for missing practices because “Mommy got home really late from work. Again.”

Yeah, so. Darn. Guess I won’t be applying for this amazing dream job. I’m not willing to sacrifice my family. Plus it’s in Utah which is not where I live. And they have snow there, right? I’m not sure even THIS job is worth dealing with snow. Said the California beach girl.

But I think YOU should apply. You know you want to! Just go HERE. Deadline is . . . well, I can’t find a deadline so get your bottom over there and apply before you miss out! It was posted 10-28-14 so hurry!

Now if they ever need a work-from-home, scrapbooking fanatic blogger, social media freak, SEO expert who would promote their goodies and talk about their scrapbooking products TWENTY FOUR SEVEN, well, then I’m their girl!

Hit me up, American Crafts. I’m here for you.

Scrapbook Deals and Steals: Free November Scrapinar & October Afternoon “Public Library”

Two quickies for ya’ today:

1. I haven’t pulled the trigger (yet?) but the deal today at CraftySteals.com is surely trying my resolve. Check this out:

Tons of October Afternoon “Public Library” for only $23. Aye yie yie . . . I want it SO bad! But I’m telling myself that I really don’t need the entire line, just several sheets of that gorgeous paper and an embellishment or two. Praying for strength, LOL.

2. Reminder that Lain’s Free Scrapinar for November is today, Monday 11-03-14 @ 10am Pacific, 1pm Eastern.

Just click here to see the details and sign up. Maybe we’ll bump into each other in the chat room :)

Hope I made your Monday a little brighter!

PS: If you’re reading this directly from my blog, sorry for the different look. I’m doing some remodeling as I have time between work and family. There will be other changes before I’m done so thank you for your patience.

Project Life: “My Story” Kit from HSN Has Shipped!

During the last HSN Scrapbooking day, the only thing I ended up ordering was the Project Life “My Story” album kit:

It was about $30 with shipping and here is what’s in the kit:

Project Life My Story Kit with Album and Photo Sleeves
What’s your story? Document anything and everything in this My Story kit from Project Life. Filled with prompts to help you remember various important milestones and times in your life, this album is the perfect gift for just about anyone. Your legacy. Your story. Your life.

What You Get

6″ x 8″ Album
61 Pages of prompts to record your life story
12 Photo pocket pages
11 Dividers

Since then, I’ve seen that you can get JUST the pages on Becky’s site for $14.99:

You don’t get the album or the page protectors like with the HSN kit but you can order those separately on BH.com. I guess it was a good deal on HSN. Via BH.com, you’d pay $15 kit + $5 page protectors + $15 album = $35 (vs. the $25 I paid on HSN).

I didn’t know when I ordered the Project Life “My Story” kit from HSN.com that there would be such a delay before it shipped! It’s been over 3 week since I ordered it. I feel kind of misled about that because they sure didn’t make it clear in the presentation – like, “Hey, order now but be aware that these kits haven’t arrived at HSN yet so there will be a delay in shipping them.”

I still probably would’ve placed the order – but I’d like to have the choice, ya know? On the one hand, I’ve had a problem with the quality of one of the PL 6×8 albums; the metal spine came loose on one end and I don’t think it’s fixable. Also, I already have some Sn@p 6×8 albums and page protectors that I could probably use with this kit. On the other hand, I like that the album is specific to this project, with the “My Story” title and I like the design and colors.

Anyway, I’ll let you know when it arrives and I’ll post some photos. I’m very excited to get this kit and get started! It’ll probably take me forever to complete, LOL. But my goal is work on it during the winter and holidays when work slows down a bit, if we travel and I have “car time”, and during some cold winter days when I’m stuck inside :)

I think it’ll mainly be handwritten journaling and probably some research on dates and such. I’m lucky my mom is still around to help me :) I’m not sure about including photos in it – if I do, I’ll probably use copies, maybe even keep them all black and white so there’s a cohesive look to it and then I can embellish things a bit.

We’ll see when it gets here! Did you order this album? If you’ve received it already, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

WRMK Page Protectors & Card Sets @ Walmart

Hey Scrapbook Obsession Peeps!

I heard on the 2 Peas Refugees board that Walmart is now carrying We R Memory Keepers (WRMK) divided page protectors and “Project Life” style card sets! Here’s a photo provided by ~KatieAnna~ (I don’t see a link to her blog, Pinterest, etc or I’d share it here):

wrmk walmart page protectors project life cards

Isn’t that cool!?! She thinks the page protector packs were $3.97 and card sets were $4.97. I haven’t been to Walmart yet to see these for myself and confirm that price, but as soon as I do, I’ll let you know.

Or if YOU have seen any WRMK items at Walmart, please leave a comment below! I’d love to know which card sets they have and also how widely Walmart is carrying these items.

Unfortunately, they don’t appear to be carrying the WRMK albums but maybe they will in the future. You can also find those at Target for only $20.

Have a happy scrappy day!

Tuesday Morning: Basic Grey, Tim Holtz, 7 Gypsies, and More

I just heard from a scrappy friend in Southern Cal that her Tuesday Morning has a BUNCH of BASIC GREY! Lots of embellishments: brads, ephemera, toothpick flags, resins, stamp stickers, die cuts, journal pads, etc. Most are 99 cents. No paper though, boo! I haven’t bought much BG lately (most of my scrappy dough has been going to AMERICAN CRAFTS paper, storage items, and WRMK albums) – so now I have to make ANOTHER trip to Tuesday AM, darn! ;)

Sorry, I don’t have any photos of the Basic Grey to share but it reminded me that I never posted all these Tuesday Morning scrappy pics I took last month.

Scrapbook Organization: Great Way to Store Kits and Collections

A couple of months ago, I found a great deal on these Cropper Hopper Sticker Envelopes.

DSCN5493

As you can see, they were normally $6.99 marked down to $1.50 so I did what any bargain-lovin’ scrapper would do: I bought them all! There were 10 packages so I got 30 Sticker Envelopes for $15 (instead of $70 at full price). WAHOO!!

They sat in my scraproom for a while because I wasn’t sure how I wanted to use them. I guess they’re intended to just store stickers, maybe by topic? But that ain’t how I roll, baby.

I thought about making up kits with them. You know, pull all the paper, stickers, alphas, embellishments, and photos for a single project. But in the end, I decided to use them for storing a whole collection.

In this case, I stored all the October Afternoon “Apple Cider” collection that I talked about HERE.

This is what it looks like from one side:

DSCN5494

And here is the other side:

DSCN5495

All of the 12×12 papers are in the large inside pocket. The stickers and embellishments fit so nicely in the outside pockets. I’ll put a label on that top tab. {For everything in my scrap space, I used an older version of this Brother P-touch Labeler – it’s perfect!}

I love that I can see the whole collection at a glance. I also love that these pockets fit inside my Cropper Hopper paper holders, which I sort by manufacturer. So of course this Sticker Envelope goes into the October Afternoon paper holder. I use an older version of these Cropper Hopper Paper Holders.

Like I said, I store most of my scrapbook stuff by manufacturer. For some lines, I just have paper but for others I have paper + embellishments. I’ll be going through my CH paper holders and transferring those full collections into these. It’ll be great to just grab a Sticker Envelope and get to work :)

I don’t belong to a scrapbook kit club anymore but if I did, I’d use these Sticker Envelopes to store new kits when they arrived. It would be helpful in “killing a kit” I would think. You could see each little piece and more likely use it. Then when most of the kit had been used, you could separate the items into your regular storage methods. “Oh no! The Sticker Envelope is empty! Whatever will I do?! Ah, time to buy a new kit!” Heh.

I got these Sticker Envelopes at Beverly’s Crafts. If you’re in California, you can check HERE to see if there’s a store near you. Maybe your store will have them, too. In mine, they weren’t in Scrapbooking but were in the big Clearance section.

They don’t seem to be available on Amazon that I could find, but I did see something similar: Advantus Cropper Hopper Paper Arranger 2-Pack

What do you think? How do you store your collections? Do you keep them together or separate them out into other categories? Would love to hear your method!

Deals and Steals: More October Afternoon & A Free Online Scrapbook Class!

If you were drooling over the great October Afternoon deal I got HERE, you might want to check THIS out! ScrapbookSteals.com has another OA deal today, this time with their EGGNOG COLLECTION KIT.

I am broke, baby! But if you’re so inclined, go take advantage of that deal before it sells out! Seems like a lot of fun to scrap the holidays with – maybe even do your whole December Daily with it?

I also just heard about a free scrapbooking class that I *NEED* to take and I’ll bet you do, too: “SCRAPBOOKING YOUR BABY’S FIRST YEAR” with Nicole Samuels. {If you’re one of those annoying scrappers who already has all their children’s first year of life documented from first cry to first birthday, gah! Just move along. I mean, really?!?}

I can’t find a photo/ad to copy over but this is the text from the class description:

document the magical moments.

In the flurry of adjusting to life with a new baby, it can be tempting to shelve your scrapbooking plans and leave your photographs in their digital formats. But those moments only happen once! Learn a system for getting those memories down and creating a scrapbook you’ll cherish for a lifetime.

Scrapbooking Your Baby’s First Year with Nicole Samuels will help you sift through the photos, moments, and memories and decide which ones belong in your memory books. You’ll learn how to use Studio Calico kits and products to create clean, modern scrapbook layouts that highlight the milestones and relationships that emerge in your baby’s first year. Nicole will show you how to create scrapbooks that both focus on the big events, like sitting up, and the unique ones that simply mean a lot to your family.

Time is fleeting and precious, don’t let the first year of the important child in your life go unaccounted for. Develop a system for documenting those magical moments in Scrapbooking Your Baby’s First Year.

If you click over at the link above, you can watch an intro video, too. The class is being broadcast for FREE on 10-30-14 by CREATIVE LIVE; they do tons of free and paid classes that are absolutely top-quality. You should check them out if you haven’t already. {I posted HERE about classes by scrappers Lain Ehmann and Becky Higgins in the past}. If you miss the live broadcast – and the free re-broadcast they usually do immediately following the live one – or you love Nicole’s class so much you want to buy it, it’s only $29.

Speaking of Becky, I see in the class schedule that Nicole is going to Skype with BECKY HIGGINS and ALI EDWARDS, two of my favorite scrappers! If nothing else, go RSVP for the free class so you can get a Studio Calico coupon. When you sign up, you’ll also be notified in the future when this “Scrapbooking Baby’s First Year” class will be re-broadcast again for free.

Man, I need this class! I have children who are well past babies and (gulp!) no baby books! I’ve even purchased the awesome PROJECT LIFE BABY KITS kits from Becky and gathered all the photos and memorabilia into one place. I just haven’t sat down and gotten started. I really wish I would’ve done it sooner but, hey, what’re ya’ gonna’ do? I’ll be watching this free class to get my bottom in gear, maybe even buy it afterward so I can keep getting kicked in the pants to do this super-important project.

Okay, there. I’ve saved you tons of money. What more do you want from me?!?! Have a lovely day.

Scrapbook Haul: October Afternoon “Apple Cider” from ScrapbookSteals.com

As I mentioned HERE, I recently ordered the “Apple Cider” line from ScrapbookSteals.com. It arrived a bit ago; I’m just getting around to posting pics.

You know how sometimes with online shopping, you really love something on the screen so you order it. But then you receive it and it’s not as great as you thought it would be?

Well, that was NOT the case with October Afternoon’s “Apple Cider” line! Ha ha, I had you fooled there, didn’t I?

I mean, look at the extreme LOVELINESS below!

As packaged:

DSCN5444

That’s a lotta’ loot for only $18:

Annnnddd . . . the most important part: the papers!

DSCN5446

I have to admit, I spent a good deal of time fondling . . . ahem, petting . . . what I meant was PUTTING my new goodies away. Jeez. What did you think was going on in the hizzy!?! Something borderline illegal? Just because I made sure I was the only one home at the time. There is nothing suspicious about that at all, no sirree Bob! Just a regular ol’ night at Scrapbook Obsession’s place.

So anyway – this is a gorgeous line in person. It’s everything I love about October Afternoon – nice thick double-sided papers with unique designs that are so usable, fun embellishments, great colors, and nice sayings. AND PUFFY STICKERS.

I’m just not sure what more you could ask really.

I really look forward to scrapping my Autumn photos with this amazing scrapbook line. Now if it would just get out of the 100s here . . .

Hope you had a great week & enjoy your weekend!

I hear that the TSV (Today’s Special Value) will be a limited-edition, Wild Orchid (lavender) Cricut Explore with 3 new sets of digital content. There’s a video HERE on Anna’s blog if you’re interested.

Anna will also be offering her usual Christmas card kit which she talks about HERE. I’ve heard very good things about her past Christmas card kits – that they’re easy to put together but impressive, and you get a lot of completed cards from them.

I also see that LISA BEARNSON will be presenting . . . NEW PROJECT LIFE on the HSN Craft Day!! Okay, now I’ll be there fo’ sho! {Click on that linkee to enter a giveaway and to see a bunch of photos of the new PL kits}.

CHRISTMAS WISH kit by Project Life

Oh em gee! You *have* to go to Lisa’s blog and see all the photos of these kits. You’ll fall in love like I have! I’m getting “Love Notes” and “Christmas Wish” for sure. The other two are awesome but I’m more of a silver girl than gold. That’s why I’m so happy to see the Christmas kit – all that silver – swoon! {There’s been SO much gold in scrapbooking lately and I’ve felt left out, LOL!}

Pssst! There’s another must-have Project Life kit teased on Lisa’s blog. Go check it out – and she even tells you the exact time she’ll debut it. AND . . . possibly 2 other new kits, if they arrive at HSN in time. That’s about as “brand new” as it gets. I’ll be watching and the suspense is killing me :)

Speaking of which, here are Lisa’s expected times but they’ve changed last minute before so I suggest you just DVR the whole dang thing, just in case ;)

So, are you excited about any of the scrapbooking items coming up on HSN next week?

Scrapbook Product Wish List: “September Skies” by Heidi Swapp

I’m kind of hot and cold with Heidi Swapp. Well, I mean, not her PERSONALLY {because I don’t know her, unfortunately} but her scrapbooking products. Sometimes I love them and other times I kinda’ go “meh.” She can go off the rails at times for me, too bright and crazy and busy.

But here’s a new line by HS called “September Skies” that is definitely on my wish list – love it!

You can see the entire line HERE.

Here’s a layout Heidi made using “September Skies” – isn’t it lovely?

I think I summed it up pretty well on my PINTEREST BOARD: “Fresh + not your typical Fall line + leave it to Heidi Swapp”.

I love the blue / pink / navy color combo – for Fall, no less. It’s new and different and fun. I think this works especially well for Californians like me where September and even October still feel like Summer, with sun and fun and temps in the 80s and 90s. I was just at the beach the other day and those pics would look great with this line!

I’ll be looking for a good deal on the “September Skies” line so I can add it to my stash and make some late-summer pages! Do you like it?

Scrapbook Deals and Steals: October Afternoon & Echo Park

WOOT!! I just ordered this from ScrapbookSteals.com:

OCTOBER AFTERNOON has long been one of my top 5 favorite scrapbooking companies (maddening release delays, notwithstanding). I’ve wanted the “Apple Cider” line since I first saw it but was waiting for a great deal like this.

I still wasn’t 100% sure I’d pull the trigger – the main things I wanted were the papers, puffy stickers, and pop drops.

So I clicked on the product description to see exactly what was included in the steal:

apple cider collection kit

Featuring iconic autumn images from acorns and pumpkins to squirrels and leaves, this collection is perfect for your autumn paper-crafting projects.

1 apple cider double take stickers
1 apple cider flash blurbs
1 apple cider memory cards
2 apple cider paper bake sale
2 apple cider paper bonfire
2 apple cider paper corn maze
2 apple cider paper harvest
2 apple cider paper hayride
2 apple cider paper pumpkin picking
1 apple cider pillow puff stickers
1 apple cider pop drops
1 apple cider snap caps
1 apple cider tin pins
1 apple cider washi tape

Lo and behold, all 3 things I reeeeeally wanted were included in this kit, which I could hardly believe because it was only $18! Even with shipping included, that’s about 40% off retail. With October Afternoon, I prefer to get the entire kit so I was pumped, baby!

To make things even better, I forgot I was earning “Steals points” but I got this message after I placed my order:

You earned 36 Steals Points!

Earn up to 8 points a day just by viewing our Steals (must be logged in).
Earn 2 points for each dollar spent on merchandise.
Redeem points at Checkout for an instant discount (100 points = $1).

So it’s only 62 points (62 cents) but, like I always, say, “It’s better than a sharp stick in the eye!” Now that I was reminded about the Steals points, I’ll try to click on over to the Steals pages each day. I get their emails, one that shows just the ScrapbookSteals deal for the day, and another that shows ALL the Steals.com deals of the day (they also have sites for She, Baby, and Kid) with some really cute stuff for great prices.

My goal is to save a few dollars on my next order, maybe even cover shipping. Then I’ll feel like a real Scrappy Shopping Ninja, ha!!

One tip I will give about ordering from ScrapbookSteals.com: If you’re in a hurry for your order, well . . . don’t be, LOL. I also ordered the Echo Park “Creative Agenda” collection kit from them on 09/02 and I just received it on 09/20. Granted, I chose the cheapest shipping option; you can pay more if you *need* your items quicker.

Yayyyy!!! So happy about getting OA Apple Cider. I just love the paper designs and puffy stickers and hearts so much <3 The "steal" changes everyday but you can check out their archives (past items like the 2 I talked about) HERE. ‘Course, I had to click over there right now to make sure that the OA and EP deals are still there (they are), and I had to see this:

The HEARTS! Oh, the HEARTS! I swear, the bullets I take for you people. You’d better appreciate it. Gah.
