Here’s a look at some things Michaels is carrying these days along with photos of my recent hauls from Michaels and Tuesday Morning :)
MICHAELS
My Michaels had some new album and planner kits. The only one that caught my eye was the kit on the left. I opened it up and, to be honest, wasn’t impressed with the quality. Oh well, made it easy not to spend money.
I noticed some new washi styles – in the top 2 rows of this pic.
I got MORE Heidi Swapp stickers. These clear ones are so useable and so cute. I also got the cork “washi” which is rad. I think it’ll be fun to layer with. All HS was 50% off and I used a 50% off coupon for the cork tape. Score!
TUESDAY MORNING
I had a better trip this time to Tuesday Morning than I’ve had in a while. While shopping, I was texting with my scrap bestie, asking if she wanted this or that.
And then laying out everything I was going to buy and pretty much bragging about all my finds via texted photo :P I’m not all bad; I bought the Maggie Holmes bows and triangle tack thingees for her <3
Yes, you’re reading that right: a $50 OttLite for only $20. ‘Nother score!
Couldn’t resist taking more photos of my haul when I got home. I’m quite proud apparently.

Just a belated update to THIS POST – my Joann.com sale order:
I don’t remember what date I received this but it arrived quickly and was packaged nicely. As always, everything is much nicer looking in person that it was online.
All of the turquoise in the border stickers is foiled and it’s SO pretty! The other MAMBI set has a lot of inlaid glitter (is that what you would call it?) where it’s like part of the sticker itself so it won’t flake off and make a mess of your projects. Love the font too. The colors in the Jillibean Soup papers are darker than I thought they’d be but still very nice.
It’s pretty fun working for Youngevity. They do giveaways almost daily on their Facebook page and lots of times all you have to do is Like or Share something.
I Love Free Stuff!
Last week, Michelle Wallach (the founder’s wife) offered up the brand new “Memory Keeping Idea Book Fall/Winter 2015” just for leaving a comment. Luckily, I got in under the wire and this is how I received it!
Not only was it in the pretty gossamer bag but it smelled delicious! I don’t know how she did that, LOL. And there was a cute card that said, “Thanks for your love & support for Youngevity!”
I wish I could post photos of this entire yummy catalog and idea book for you! It has all the fall and winter lines not only for Lisa Bearnson’s new “Anthology” line, but also for Youngevity’s existing scrapbooking lines called “Our Memories for Life” (paper) and “Heritage Makers” (digital).
Youngevity Memory Keeping Idea Book – Fall/Winter 2015
I couldn’t resist showing you all the sneaks into the November “Anthology” kits. I’m just a SQUEEEEE bit excited to see them!
*Note: This was a misprint. It’s actually the NOVEMBER Nifty Gifty kit :)
Aren’t all those layouts cute! I especially love the “HOME” one 2nd from the bottom. In fact, I like what I see so much that I canceled the October kits I had in my auto-ship (going out 10/25) and decided to replenish my Tangy Tangerine multi-vitamins and ASAP weight loss drops THIS month, so I could spend all my auto-ship budget on these November kits NEXT month. October = health, November = SCRAP!!
Other features of this idea book:
– Glossy color photos throughout. It’ll remind you of the good ol’ days of flipping through a scrapbook magazine
– Great ideas for layouts, home decor projects, gift ideas (Christmas is getting close!),etc.
– Clear explanations of how to create Heritage Makers projects, how to place orders, and how to be a consultant*, if that interests you :)
*Make sure to sign up under me (Erika Friday / 101433514) so I receive credit for referring you and you get to be on Team Lisa Bearnson!
WOULD YOU LIKE A COPY OF THE ONLINE or PAPER IDEA BOOK?
If you’d like a paper copy of the idea book, I’m selling them.
They cost me $40 for 10 – or $4 each. Postage within the US will be $2-3, so $6-7 per copy. I wish I could afford to send you one for free but I just can’t, at least until my “Anthology” business is selling more.
Would you like one? Just $5 including postage (within continental US). If you then place an order through me (Erika Friday / 101433514) and let me know, I’ll refund your $5 via Paypal. (you have 60 days after your idea book purchase). Sound like a plan?
My Paypal is: erika(at)scrapbookobsession.com
Whether digital or paper, I hope you enjoy the “Youngevity Memory Keeping Idea Book”!
There’s that saying, “She’ll be late to her own funeral!”. Well, that would be me, LOL. I’m notoriously like 1 minute late to almost everywhere I go. I guess I just don’t see the point of getting somewhere early and having to sit around waiting when I could be DOING something. Hey, I’m a flawed human, what can I say? {All you punctual people hate me right now}.
I’m wayyyy more than a minute late to incorporating Facebook into the Scrapbook Obsession world. But now that we’re there, I hope you’ll join us!
Scrapbook Obsession Facebook Page
The new Facebook Page is HERE (https://www.facebook.com/ScrapbookObsession)
The Scrapbook Obsession FB page will be a fun place to share updates, blog posts, industry news and links, sales, and all kinds of fun!
Did you know that, even if you “Like” a Page, you’ll only see in your feed about 1-5% of what is posted on the page? Yeah, it’s kind of frustrating but there is a solution. The more YOU engage with the page – Like, Comment, and Share – the more you’ll see it in your feed.
Are you pickin’ up what I’m laying down?
Please come on by and not only Like the Scrapbook Obsession Facebook Page but also join in, please! The more you do, the more you’ll see in your feed, the more you’ll engage – it’s like a wonderful ol’ ball of scrapbooks and sunshine :)
Scrapbook Obsession Facebook Group
Shhhh, the new Facebook Group is a secret!! No, really, I’m not kidding. It’s a Secret group. That means it’s not visible to the zillions of people on Facebook. After surveying newsletter subscribers, it was agreed that a private group would encourage sharing and keep it a manageable size, so we can really get to know each other.
To join the Secret group, all you have to do is get on my free newsletter list here:
If you’re reading this via e-mail and can’t see the sign-up form, just click on through to my blog. There’s a place to join in the top right sidebar.
Hope to see you over there. We’re going to have so much fun!
PS: Did you notice that I said “Announcement #1” ??? Hmmm, I wonder what else I could be brewing up?
Believe it or not, this planner is actually stepping out on the wild side for me. I’ve used the smaller version of this At-a-Glance planner (about 7 x 9″ vs 8 1/2 x 11″) for literally 10 years. I save them every year and use them to look up stuff – medical info, dates and journaling for scrapbooking, etc. – or to win an argument with my husband (oops, did I say that in my “out loud” voice?).
I just pull the old refill out and put in the new one; they’re slim and file away very nicely. Changing to a different size?!? Gasp! It’s like those of you who MUST have a row of matching albums on your shelf. It causes a bit of anxiety to change it up, am I right?
I have reasons for going practical over pretty. As much as I’d love to dress up a cute day planner with stickers and washi and pretty handwriting, it’s just not happening. I keep track of too much stuff in my planner:
– Travel and holiday plans
– Hub’s work schedule
– Dates for school stuff, sports, and community events
– Medical, dental, and other appointments for all of us
– All of my clients’ events and due dates (yes, I calendar 5-6 other people, LOL)
– Bloggy stuff
– Free business and scrappy webinars (I’m a junkie)
Not only do I need all that space I have in my current 7 x 9″ boring planner, for 2016 I’ve decided to “go bigger” because I need even more room! See the longer horizontal space for each day? I draw 2 vertical lines to make 3 boxes so I can visually separate personal, business, and webinars/e-learning. It’s getting pretty cluttered and I run out of room on some days. On the month-at-a-glance pages, I track our bills and budget. On the blank lines on the top right, I usually journal about something from that week (to scrapbook later).
You can see why those pretty scrapbook planners with all the fun extras wouldn’t work for me, huh? I did look at a lot of options before choosing this (boring) planner. Even if you don’t go scrapbook-y, there are some pretty awesome, cute, helpful planners out there now. I looked at many, including Elise Blaha Cripe’s Get to Work Book, the Passion Planner (tried out their free printables), the popular Erin Condren planner {did you know they carry these now at Staples?!}, and a bunch of other nice options on Amazon. I even bought and tried the Uncalendar. None of them had enough writing space :(
Lest you think I’m TOO super boring, I am going to bust out in a big way with my day planning in 2016.
Yeah, they’re erasable. So what? You got a problem with that? I’m a bit picky and just can’t do scratch-outs. Gotta’ be able to fully erase mistakes or changes and I hear these pens totally rock.
I don’t know if I’ll actually try to color code everything or just use, say, pink one week and blue the next. We shall see. Baby steps, people. Baby steps.
Tonight I had a 50% off 1 item coupon at Michaels; only thing I could find to buy were some clickable highlighters – pink, yellow, and orange. Hope to use those in my planner as well.
Thanks to Mr. Amazon Prime, my planner and pens got here in 3 days. I’m inordinately excited to play with them. Hmm, what shall I do first? Go through and add birthdays in lime OR bill due dates in turquoise?! Eeeee! (Goober).
I thought I was ordering a black planner but they sent me SILVER which I actually love! I may not use a cute scrappy planner but I’m proud of myself for stepping out of my box a teensy bit.
How about you? Do you use a fancy planner? A white board on the fridge? What’s up with you? I’d love to hear about it.
Lisa’s goal was to release new kits on the first of every month and she did it! The October kits are all plugged into my online store and available to you immediately.
The type of kits available each month will vary. There will always be a stamp kit and then the other 2 slots will rotate between a layout kit, a pocket page kit, and paper collection kit. In October 2015, it’s the latter two. Ready to see?
Oh my gosh, “I love you more than bacon, Sundays, and green lights.” ROFL Honestly, when I saw the preview and first photo of this kit, I wasn’t sold. But now with the close-ups and layouts, it’s a must-have! Seeing how photos bring out the colors so well is the clincher for me. Yep, I’ll be getting this one.
As always, I love the little “book” that keeps all the elements together. I often spread out on my bed to do my pocket page scrapping while I watch TV and I also get a lot of pocket page scrapbooking done at my yearly retreat. It’ll be so easy to just grab these little books with everything self-contained. Love it lots.
To see the full listing for the “Better Together” pocket page kit including exact components, please click HERE.
Did you see the twine bows on the 3-D “J-O-Y” stickers – oh fer cute! This is such a pretty and playful Christmas scrapbook kit. I like when Christmas lines have more than just red and green; the teal/turquoise and pink make it special. I’m not sure yet if I’m going to order it. I truly have enough Christmas scrapbooking stuff for layouts. I’m thinking about getting it to make Christmas cards and/or December Daily though. Hmm . . .
To see the full listing for the “Christmas Wishes” paper collection kit including components, please click HERE.
One sheet of stamps is fall / Halloween / Thanksgiving and the other is winter / Christmas. Love the images, especially the chipmunk and that mint candy looks like it’d fun to color in, huh? I just realized you can make a jack-o-lantern with these, LOL! There are 2 pumpkins along with 2 sets of triangle eyes and 2 mouths.
To see the full listing for the “October 2015 Stamp Sets” kit including components, please click HERE.
How to Order “Anthology” Products
You can order these kits (or tons of other scrappy things) from my My Anthology site right HERE.
Did you know that you can put any of Lisa’s “Anthology” items on Auto-Ship? For instance, if you love what you’ve seen so far and know that you’ll want all 3 kits each month, you can save yourself the trouble of ordering them every time and just put them on Auto Ship. Or maybe you run through cardstock, ink, albums, and page protectors like crazy. Put ’em on Auto-Ship and you’ll get them automatically every month.
You can change your Auto Ship items at any time. That’s what I do. Last month, the 3 August kits were in my Auto Ship, then for September I got one of Lisa’s kits, the Anthology cutting mat, and some Tangy Tangerine supplements. In October, I know I’ll need some more weight loss drops and at least 2, maybe 3 of these kits. So I’ll just update my Auto-Ship now and I know what day I’ll be charged and when to expect the items (my date is the 25th).
If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to ask. I can be reached here: erika@scrapbookobsession.com or 805-400-3261.
I’m so excited to share these new products with you and hope you love them!
Dang, I keep forgetting to tell you about Lain’s events lately! Already missed True Scrap Planner Love on 09-19-15. If interested, you can buy the replay HERE.
Now it’s time for a free bonus scrapinar in October 2015 called “Pick a Card, Any Card” by Layle Koncar.
The Pick a Card project is a replay from True Scrap 5, which normally sells for $13, but you’ll get it for free on September 30! Plus you’ll get to hear some details and get a feel for what True Scrap 7 is all about.
Yes, you CAN use those 3×4 and 4×6 pocket cards in your 12×12 layouts! Pocket Pages are all the rage but that doesn’t mean you have to pass up all those cute cards and Pocket Page accessories if you prefer the larger, more traditional layouts. Layle will showcase how to use these items in your larger layouts and has nine different ideas and project examples to help you bridge the gap between 12×12 layouts and Pocket Page scrapbooking.
And we’re almost to the deadline to get an early bird discount on “True Scrap 7” – yikes! Yep, it expires tomorrow {Wed. 09-30-15}.
“True Scrap 7 is the universe’s premier live, virtual paper crafting event, bringing together the most talented instructors with the smartest and most incredible students! Now in its 5th year, True Scrap events have produced hundreds of hours of content and educated thousands of students. True Scrap 7, on October 23 and 24, promises to continue the tradition with instructors including:
Becki Adams – Scrapbooking “On the Go”
Julie Fei-Fan Balzer – Patterned Papers by YOU
Lisa Bearnson – Embellish Your Story: Tips for Stepping Up Your Work and Your Words
Kelli Crowe – For the Love of (Scrap)Books
Noell Hyman – Scrapbookers, Unite! Using Harmony and Contrast to Create Unity
Layle Koncar – More IS Better: Tips, Tricks & Techniques for Adding More Photos to Your Layouts
Maggie Massey – Organize, Document, Display: A Celebration Album
Kathy Cano-Murillo – From Paper to Petals: Mixed Media Paper Flowers
If you’d like more info or to register, just click HERE.
Early bird price is $99 until Wednesday 09-30-15; then it goes to full price of $199. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya’!
If you register by 9/30, that breaks down to $12 per class. Given the caliber of these instructors, I think that’s more than worth it.
If you’re able to make the events live – like the Friday night PJ party and the classes – they’re even more awesome. People from all over the world are online together, chatting about the classes, joking around, and sharing ideas. You can ask questions directly to the instructors, get their supply lists, and see them complete the project firsthand.
I’ve had a great experience any time I’ve attended one of the True Scrap events. I’m super excited about seeing Lisa Bearnson there for the first time. Kelli Crowe and Layle Koncar are always a hoot (you’ll see what I mean about Layle if you listen to the FREE SCRAPINAR with her on 09-30-15). I’m not familiar with Maggie Massey; will have to go look her up.
Remember, with all of Lain’s events, you get a replay when it’s over. But you have to sign-up first, even for the free scrapinars. Over 100 people have already signed up for “True Scrap 7”; it’s gonna’ be fun!
To update my recent post about finding virtually brand new scrapbooking lines at the big box discount stores, I wanted to share what I found at my TJ Maxx on Wednesday.
Luckily, I’d heard from online scrappy friends to check EV-UH-REE-WHERE in the store because things were being found in various places.
Here’s one of the holiday displays and, yeah, it’s a bit like Where’s Waldo? Can you find the scrapbook items in here?
Second shelf, far right :)
Here are all the items I pulled out from there:
The twine was on the bottom shelf. It’s not in the first photo because I didn’t notice it at first, LOL. That’s it. I’m not a big Halloween person so I passed on everything. The enamel dots would’ve been tempting but for that ever-present GOLD.
The next 3 photos were taken in the checkout line.
A few more of the newer Halloween items along with some other scrappy things.
I left empty-handed. I might check back again to see if they get any more of the new lines but the more Thanksgiving/fall focused ones, which are more up my alley. I’m not holding my breath :)
I’ve heard a lot of people say their stores don’t have these items. I just wanted to show you some places to look in case they’re there and you’re not finding them. Also, keep trying – I’ve also heard that some people have gone back multiple times and found more and more each time.
Yep, I’m like a little girl I don’t know about to open her birthday presents! Hee heeee . . .
One of the many great ways that Lisa Bearnson is supporting her team (#TeamLisaBearnson) is by providing us with our own “My Anthology” websites. She knows that the experience for YOU, the customer, will be so much better this way. Instead of going to the huge Youngevity website or the Heritage Makers scrapbooking website, you can now go straight to the source to look at Lisa’s “Anthology” scrapbooking products.
Like most direct sales companies, there is a monthly charge to have our own consultant website. But the cool thing is – because I’m at CEO level and I meet the required amount of monthly auto-ship – I get my site for free. Double woot!
Youngevity is known as “the Amazon of direct sales.” It’s a lot of stuff we all buy anyway so why not become a distributor (only $25), buy your “normals”, and make a little dough on the side?
From my new site, you can also see the cool stuff Heritage Makers has going on because it links to THEIR BLOG. HM is the digital scrapbooking, photo books, and photo gifts arm of Youngevity. You’ve heard me say a million times that I’ll never be a digital scrapper. But making a tote bag with all my kids’ sports photos on it doesn’t count, does it? I’m also thinking: Christmas gifts . . . from the heart . . . from someone (me) who doesn’t have time to make 10 mini albums ;) (Cheater, cheater, LOL).
There’s a link on my new “My Anthology” website to learn more about Lisa Bearnson and why she started Anthology.
Lastly but not leastly, if you’re thinking about becoming a distributor for Anthology, Heritage Makers, and/or Our Memories for Life, there’s a link for that too. I’d LOVE to have you on my team :)
So there’s my “My Anthology” site! I’m so stoked! Now I can easily show off our products, take orders, and sign up customers and consultants.
So my scrappy friend Janet shared this haul video where scrapper Tasha shared her recent finds from TJ Maxx.
What’s crazy is that the fall and Halloween items that TJ Maxx is carrying – just came out! They include items like: Imaginisce wood buttons and dimensional stickers, Pebbles dimensional stickers, American Crafts Halloween tags and Details gold arrows and camera clips, and Crate Paper “After Dark” sequins, pumpkin Standouts, and Party Favor Bags, Elements spider brads, Pebbles enamel dots and 12×12 pad called “Boo”. Most of the embellishments were $1.99 and the paper pad was $5.99. The Amy Tangerine “Authentic” roller stamp was $2.99.
So that set off a TJ Maxx shopping frenzy and my online scrappy friend Deb found all of this magical scrappy goodness at her TJM and Marshall’s!
from Pebbles “Harvest” line
from Crate Paper “After Dark” line
from American Crafts
from Imaginesce “Give Thanks” line
from Pebbles “Boo!” line
Alison found this at Marshall’s:
Heather got this at Marshall’s
(Cute shoes, huh?)
Not that this will send you off shopping or anything, but hypothetically if you were looking for these things, try everywhere in the store. Sightings have been reported in the stationary aisle, the Fall/Halloween aisle, the checkout aisle, etc. I haven’t had a chance to check my TJ Maxx yet (don’t have Marshall’s) but they don’t usually get much and if they do, it lags behind everyone else.
At the same time we’re cheering about the new stuff and great prices, I’m also hearing reports that some scrapbook stores that ordered the full new lines from American Crafts (who owns all these brands – Pebbles, Crate Paper, etc.) are only receiving bits and pieces. So interesting!
I did notice that Scrapbook.com has much of the Pebbles “Harvest” line, like these enamel dots I’m totally swooning over!
SB.com also has much of the Crate Paper “After Dark” line although several items are either on sale or out of stock.
Are scrapbooking manufacturers selling directly to the big box stores now right out of the gate? Are they giving them preference over local scrapbook stores? Or are the items available for a discount at these big box department stores seconds or damaged somehow? Maybe it’s because these are super seasonal items that have a short shelf life, so to speak, so AC wants to sell them in the most expeditious way. Who knows?
As a kind of side note, I noticed that Lisa Bearnson’s new line “Anthology” (for which I’m a consultant) includes some American Crafts and WRMK items packaged as Anthology – the 12×12 album, the pillow box punch board, and the tropical textured cardstock stack. I’m pretty sure the 6×8 album is re-branded Simple Stories, too.
Overall, it seems the American Crafts umbrella is very diversified and, while I feel badly for scrapbook store owners, I can see the need to do that in today’s scrapbooking industry. I’m not criticizing American Crafts because I don’t know the facts but this just has me wondering: Have discount department stores become the new local scrapbook store? Will we continue to see brand new lines at prices lower than wholesale at these stores? Or will things go back to the normal way of local and online scrapbooking stores having new lines exclusively for a while before the discount stores get them?
In addition to the monthly kit releases, Lisa Bearnson’s “Anthology” line will have some Basic Supplies and Tools that will be in stock for a longer period of time. You can find them all HERE my Youngevity website.
These items include:
– 6×8 and 12×12 albums
– adhesive
– page protectors
– inks
– acrylic stamp blocks
– Perfect Layers kit
– cutting mat
– many other tools!
Here are 3 of the items that I happen to have because they came in the Anthology CEO Kit:
Red 6×8 album with page protectors which can be used as a mini album or as stamp storage for Lisa’s monthly stamp kits. The stamps are not included with the album but the page protectors and divider cards are.
Textured cardstock pack 12×12 in Tropical
Turquoise 12×12 album
If you’d like to order any of these ongoing products, just go HERE for Basic Supplies and HERE for Tools. Thank you!
PS: My review of these items is included in THIS blog post.
Lisa Bearnson’s “Anthology” scrapbooking line includes 3 new kits each month. They’ll be first come, first served, and only available until the supply runs out. Think of them like any other scrapbook kit club :)
You can find my posts about the monthly kits by hovering over “Buy Anthology” in the Scrapbook Obsession header.
There will also be “staple items” like albums and inks which will be more constant. You can find my articles about them HERE and order them HERE.
Let’s Take a Look
With “Anthology” starting out in August 2015, these were the first 3 kits. They’ll be available HERE until they sell out. There’s a layout kit, a stamp kit, and a scrapbooking kit.
August 2015 Stamp Sets
As you can see, the packaging is very nice. They come in a study envelope with a very strong velcro closure.
(Sorry about the date stamp on my photos; will try to remove that ASAP!)
This set includes owls, foxes, woodgrain and plain hearts, date stamps, stitches, sun/clouds/rain, etc.
August 2015 Scrapbooking Kit: “Rosey Posey”
This kit comes in a very nice cardboard folder to keep all the items together and easily store them in a bin or on a shelf.
The kit includes 12×12 papers and embellishments.
On both sides of the folder, there are boxes to keep notes on your projects.
The 3-D stickers have plenty of foam tape on the back.
On the left are the 3-D stickers many of which have a fine layer of glitter and all are either 2 or 3 layers. Very dimensional! On the right are chipboard stickers, most of which have gold foil on them.
There are {20} single-sided 12×12 papers – 2 each of 10 designs. They’re heavy cardstock weight with both cream and white backgrounds.
Here are all the die cuts spread out on the navy blue 12×12 paper, along with the pink sequins and 4 colors of twine.
Most of the die cuts have gorgeous pink foil on them.
August 2015 Layout Kit
With this item, you get {8} 2-page layout kits in a handy folder.
There’s a place to take notes as you grab photos and prepare your journaling for these awesome layouts.
Here are all {8} kits . . .
. . . and the embellishments and pop dots.
These are my 2 favorites. I love the foxes and the “love you” journaling spot in the first kit, and the colors in the second kit are so happy!
These are the other 6 page kits – you can see that each one comes with a “recipe card” with how the final layout looks and some tips on putting it together.
So those are all the August 2015 “Anthology” kits. Hope you enjoyed! You can purchase any that are still in stock on my Anthology website HERE. Thank you!
PS: If you want to read more about the August kits, I did a blog post about them HERE.
I try to keep up on all the new Project Life things that come out but it’s hard to do these days; there are so many. When I was at Michaels in the big city last week, seeing this kit for the first time was a pleasant surprise: Heidi Swapp “Picturesque”.
Just looking at the front, I wasn’t too sure. It looked maybe too nature-y?
Note: The image of my arms holding an iPhone 6+ does NOT come with the kit.
But when I turned the box over, I fell in love! Must. Have. This. Now.
Bloop! Into the cart.
What was that you said? Why no, I don’t usually get a cart at Michaels. But I was looking for WMRK albums that day. So there, smarty pants. It’s like you were trying to imply that I’m a scrapbook shopaholic or something. So are you but what am I??
When I got home, I opened this kit and loved it even more.
You might want to get your Paypal fired up. Just sayin’ . . .
4×6 double-sided cards; I flipped them so you’re seeing both sides here.
More 4×6 double-sided cards but these are the ones where you can use the same design either vertically or horizontally. For my fellow English majors, that’s “up and down” or “sideways”.
Then you have 4×6 double-sided cards meant to be used vertically. I flipped them so you’re seeing both sides.
Here are all the 3×4 cards – all double-sided, flipped so you can see both sides.
Phew! So my favorite things about this line are the blue and grey colors, the relaxed vibe, lots of white for journaling and to give my photos room to breathe, etc. I normally don’t like “photo-realistic” scrapbook supplies because, to me, it’s confusing to the eye – which is the real photo and which is just for embellishment? LOL But the photography and coloring on these don’t make it feel that way. The photos are faded so they don’t compete.
I have lots of ideas for these but I think they’ll work especially well with beach photos. They could even be fun for a non-traditional take on First Day of School. On that little “Check” card right above here, you could put a checklist of things they wanted to take to school the first day.
For Sale
As much as we love our Project Life Core Kits, I defy a scrapper to use eleventy-jillion cards from the same line. So, once the caffeine kicked in and I could do math, I set about dividing them up into keep vs. sell. That’s where you come in: Want some?
ETA 02-17-16: ALL HAVE BEEN SOLD!
This set is $7.50 plus shipping and contains:

If you’d like a partial set of Heidi Swapp “Picturesque” Project Life cards, please leave a comment below or e-mail me: erika(at)scrapbookobsession(dot)com !
I did a little scrappy shopping over Labor Day Weekend.
My favorite find is the Webster’s Pages “Dream in Color” enamel dots.
This is one of those times when seeing something in person clinches the sale. If I had seen these on Amazon . . .
. . . they wouldn’t really have caught my eye. But in person, they are sooooo cute! Granted, those glittery gold dots will probably end up in the trash; I am SO over gold. I mean, I was never ON it but I’m so OVER it. There’s just no love for silver and I don’t get it.
Anyhow, I got those beauties at Beverly’s Crafts and paid full price. I had already used a coupon in the transaction – to get 3 WRMK 12×12 albums for the price of 2. What, WHUUUUTTT? That made them only $20 each instead of $30 so I was okay paying full price for some dots :) But you KNOW I tried to use another coupon. Foiled again!
The other 2 items were from Michaels and they weren’t on sale but I got a little discount on ’em. The cashier entered the coupon for 20% of my total purchase, so that was awesome.
I already have a set of the blue and green dots but those are colors I scrap a lot with. And the Heidi Swapp“Puffy Stickers” are super cute. I just adore her handwriting. She could write “Parcheesi” or “Batmobile” and I would buy them, even though I will never scrapbook a thing on those topics.
More to come on some Project Life stuff I bought . . . will be selling off some of it, if you’re interested!

Hi there – The “soft launch” of Lisa Bearnson’s “Anthology” line begins tomorrow (08-25-15)!
I noticed on the Heritage Makers blog that there are some updates including PRICES!! I know a lot of you have been waiting for that. We’re allowed to copy/paste anything Lisa shares into our own blogs and social media so I’m just going to do that below. (This information differs a tiny bit from what I put in my last Anthology post, which I’ve updated). I’ll summarize the prices, etc. at the bottom.
From the Heritage Makers blog:
August Layout Kit
Each month, the Anthology by Lisa Bearnson product line will have a layout or card kit, a stamp kit, and a third kit that will vary from paper and embellishment collections (like the Rosey Posey Collection) to embellishment kits to technique kits and more. For August, we have a layout kit, stamp kit, and collection kit, which are all part of the pre-launch sale event.
Like the CEO Layout Kit, the August Layout Kit (wholesale price: $49) comes in a folder with space on the flaps to record information. This kit creates eight two-page layouts that are packaged in sealed cellophane bags (each layout has its own bag). You’ll find recipe cards with an image of the completed layout and tips for dressing it up a bit. The thing I love about these kits are all the little extras like the chipboard accents, the Baker’s Twine, and the buttons. The kit even includes foam squares to use when adhering pieces you want lifted off the page. Scrapbooking should always be this easy!
Here are a few images of what you can create with this kit.
Are you excited to create these layouts? Think of how quickly you can make eight layouts that record your favorite memories!
August Rosey Posey Collection
The Rosey Posey Collection Kit (wholesale price: $42) is a modern romantic collection that includes shades of pink, gold, aqua, cream, white, and navy. The designs vary from bold to elegant, allowing you to create scrapbook pages and other paper crafts for a variety of occasions. I love the layered chipboard accents that add depth to my projects. When you get this kit, let your creativity run wild and enjoy the process of creating. Here are two examples showcasing the Rosey Posey collection.
Are you in love? I know I am.
August Stamp Kit
I talked earlier about the versatility of designing with acrylic stamps and, as you can see from these samples, the August Stamp Kit (wholesale price $24) will keep you busy creating for quite a while. The August Stamp Kit includes two 4×6 acrylic stamp sets (Hey Foxy and Whoo and When) that are mounted on rigid plastic and come in an envelope with a velcro enclosure for easy storage. When you’re ready to create, remove the stamp from the plastic backing, place it on an acrylic block (sold separately), apply your ink, and stamp. I love that you can stamp the design with one color for a quick and easy design or stamp the design in black and color it with markers, chalk, paint, and other media. These sets include not only images, but sentiments and words to use on cards, tags, and layout titles. Which of these designs do you think you’ll use first?
Acrylic Blocks
When stamping with acrylic stamps, you need a block as a base for you stamp. TheAnthology Acrylic Blocks (wholesale price: $19.60) come in a set of three blocks that are 2″ x 6″, 3″ x 4″, and 2″ x 2.25″ in size. Each block has grid lines to assist you in lining up your stamps on the block and then stamping your design straight on your project. If you get ink on a block, wipe it clean with soap and water and it’s ready to go for the next time.
Well, that concludes the look at the products available in the pre-launch sales event. I hope you are as excited as I am about these products. I want you to enjoy the creating experience and spend as much or as little time on each project as you want. I can’t wait to see what you create from these kits! And remember, these 6 items will be available on Tuesday, August 25 at 10 am MT during the pre-launch sales event for existing Youngevity distributors. See you soon!
(end of Heritage Makers blog post)

What I’m Planning to Buy
On this first go round, I think I’m going to purchase all 3 August items + the acrylic blocks. That comes to $134.60 plus tax and shipping. I have a $100 credit from when I signed up in March as a CEO that I’ve been holding onto – woot!
I’m not a huge stamper but I want to check out the quality of ALL the products and be able to share them with you. I know it can be hard to purchase from a brand new line when you don’t know enough about it. So hopefully I can help with that by sharing photos and my reviews.
To cash in my credits, I have to call customer service. I predict they’re going to be overwhelmed with calls on Tuesday morning so here’s my strategy: The item I want the absolute most is the August Layout Kit; I don’t want to take any chances it sells out before I can get through on the phone. So I’m going to order that online straight from my Youngevity website the second it’s live! Meanwhile, I’ll be calling customer service and will use my credits to order Rosey Posey, the stamp kit, and the acrylic blocks.
Fingers crossed I get everything I want. Wish me luck! If you’d like to place an order, the easiest way is to sign up now as my Preferred Customer, then place your order online Tuesday 8/25 at 10am MT. If you’d like to become a consultant, hit me up: erika(at)scrapbookobsession(dot)com!
Just letting you know about a couple of fun things that Layout a Day has going on right now. One is free and the other you can save $70 if you sign up before 09-02-15 :)
Free August Scrapinar
First of all, the free monthly scrapinar is called “Zentangle for Beginners” and it’s on 08-26-15 at 10 AM Pacific/1 PM Eastern.
I keep hearing about Zentangle but have really no idea what it is, LOL. Do you? I’ll be checking out this scrapinar so I can finally learn about it. You can sign up for free (or just get more details) HERE.

RELEASE DATE: Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 10am MT
I’m giving you a heads up because – check out the products below and if you’re interested – I really suggest you sign up NOW as a Preferred Customer (free, no obligation). Tuesday is going to be CRAY-CRAY and I don’t want you to miss out. More on that below . . .
Here’s the Latest
Yesterday, we had a conference call with Lisa and our team trainer, Wendy. They shared a bunch of information including photos and details for all the products. Also, we learned how to assist customers in getting those products.
If you’re interested in these products, first please go HERE to the Heritage Makers blog entry from yesterday where a lot of information has been shared. Then please come back and I’ll give you even more.
Here’s the video from that post where Lisa talks about the pre-launch.
Starting Tuesday is the “pre-launch” period so consultants like me can let our customers know about it and help them order, along with ordering products for ourselves.
I have a $100 credit that I’ve been holding since March just so I can shop! And I know a lot of other consultants do as well. So we’re wondering about sell-outs if you’re not quick on the draw Tuesday. Just sayin’.

Items Exclusive to the CEO Kit
CEO BAG
The bag accommodates 12×12 page kits and has an inside zippered pouch for smaller items – tools and embellishments. MAKE AND SHAKE CARD KIT
Plus the 2 albums, Lemon Squeezy kit, cardstock, and WRMK punch board.

For now, you can only get the cardstock and albums with the CEO kit – but they’ll be available individually in the future.
